People in Peril has donated farm animals to families in poor regions of Africa and Asia. Goats, cows, sheep, and chickens provided people in need with essential food such as eggs, milk, and dairy products. Thanks to the surplus that families could sell at local markets, they were able to earn extra income, improve their living conditions, and send their children to school. Although food shortages remain a major challenge in many countries, another increasingly urgent problem has emerged in recent years: water scarcity.

Climate change has brought unstable weather patterns, causing heavy rains and floods in some parts of the world, while others face prolonged droughts that devastate communities and entire ecosystems.

Donations received through the Real Gift 100% Goat can also be used, for example, to:
• build greenhouses where vegetables can be grown year-round
• create systems for collecting and using rainwater
• provide seedlings of more resilient crops
• plant trees that retain water in the soil and provide shade
• create irrigation systems
• educate farmers

As part of the LIVELIHOOD program, we also help secure sustainable employment and create jobs. We support people in need so they can become self-sufficient, find employment, or learn a trade. We help craftspeople, local shops, small family businesses, and farms. Thanks to the Real Gift 100% Goat, you can contribute, for example, to the purchase of a small bakery oven, a sewing machine for an aspiring seamstress, or training in food processing—such as making jam, apple cider vinegar, or olive oil—which people can then sell at local markets.
