To enable children to learn as effectively as possible, they need not only a safe environment and a patient teacher but also the necessary equipment. A Real Gift Blackboard for a school symbolizes all the teaching aids and equipment that are often taken for granted in developed countries. We are accustomed to classrooms filled with desks, chairs, blackboards, bulletin boards, and computers. We see these as standard.

In some countries, children only have access to half-empty rooms with minimal equipment, and in some places, they must even study outdoors. At People in Peril, we strive to change this because every child has the right to education. Education is often the only way to break the cycle of generational poverty.

Modern Equipment for Rural Schools in Moldova

Gagauzia is a unique region in southern Moldova, home to diverse nationalities, cultures, and languages—including Gagauz, Bulgarians, Moldovans, Russians, Ukrainians, and Roma. The region also features many small rural localities with limited resources. Local schools could not afford essential equipment such as printers or scanners, which are necessary for reproducing teaching materials for students and teachers alike.

We provided five schools with the most outdated equipment with digital aids such as printers, scanners, and projectors. The students were very grateful:

"We think this is a very important step for our school, as we prepare various worksheets and projects, and now we can print them out and present them! On behalf of all the students, thank you very much for providing us with such equipment!"

Children with Disabilities Also Need Support in Education

In the Moldovan regions of Gagauzia and Taraclia, we also supported socially and physically disadvantaged children. The existing support system in these areas is limited, with a common problem being the lack of assistants to help children with special needs during lessons.

Centers operating outside of schools, where social workers assist children, play an irreplaceable role. However, these centers lacked the necessary equipment, so we purchased aids for six of them, serving a total of 218 children. The aids were tailored to each center’s specific needs and included:

  • Teaching aids (animal maps and visual materials to support development)
  • Encyclopedias, textbooks, fairy tales, and other books
  • Drawing paper, cardboard, highlighters, plasticine, and other creative tools
  • Orthopedic mats with various surfaces to develop fine motor skills
  • Educational toys, musical instruments, and building sets
  • Speakers to support music education
  • Tablets for modern teaching methods, training videos, and educational games

Support education in poor areas with a Real Gift Blackboard for School.

Thank you for your support.
