While most people in Europe take drinking water for granted, in many countries, obtaining clean water is a daily challenge. Long periods of drought and armed conflicts that damage infrastructure are often the main causes of water scarcity. People are forced to flee their homes and gather in refugee camps, where lack of access to drinking water is a common problem.
Water Canisters as a Symbol of Access to Drinking Water
Providing water canisters helps facilitate the transportation and storage of water, protecting it from contamination. In impoverished families, it’s often women and children who fetch water—sometimes spending hours to reach the nearest well.

Water Filters for 15 Villages in Myanmar
In Myanmar’s Rakhine State, specifically in the Mrauk U region, families—both Muslim and non-Muslim—have faced natural disasters and ongoing military conflicts. Access to safe drinking water was extremely limited; residents mainly relied on rainwater collected in community tanks. Drinking untreated rainwater caused health problems, especially for children suffering from malnutrition, as diarrheal diseases posed a serious risk. We provided water filters to 15 villages to help them purify their water. Additionally, we placed 50 goats with the most vulnerable families with young children so they could have a steady supply of milk.
Water Purification Tablets in a Refugee Camp
The Rohingya Muslim community has faced persecution and violence in Myanmar. Thousands have fled and found temporary refuge in a camp in Bangladesh. Conditions are difficult, particularly due to the lack of safe drinking water. Many people had to rely on water that did not meet hygiene standards, increasing the risk of disease transmission. Young children were especially vulnerable. To address this, we distributed water purification tablets, making the water safer for drinking and hygiene purposes.
