Imagine waiting for hours in a cold, damp air-raid shelter until the shelling stops. This is the daily reality for many families in Ukraine. The difficult and stressful situation is made even worse by missing or inadequate sanitary facilities. This problem also affects schools and kindergartens, which is why we focus on building and renovating toilets as part of the reconstruction of their air-raid shelters.
People who have fled war or lost their homes due to natural disasters often find temporary refuge in refugee camps and tent cities. Functional toilets are essential for maintaining hygiene. They reduce the risk of disease outbreaks and increase the sense of safety. Safe, lockable toilets are especially important for women and girls. Accessible sanitary facilities help families in need maintain their dignity.
