The escalation of the conflict in the Middle East during March and April 2026 has led to a dramatic deterioration of the humanitarian situation. More than 1.1 to 1.2 million people in Lebanon have been forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in overcrowded collective centers, where conditions are often extremely difficult. Many families left in a hurry with only the bare essentials and now face a severe shortage of basic needs, especially food and safe drinking water.
Food assistance is one of the most critical forms of support in the first days of a crisis. In the city of Saida, through our partner IHR, we provided 756 hot family meals to 54 families, helping approximately 380 people get through the most difficult period after fleeing. A hot meal does not only provide nourishment—it also brings a sense of stability and dignity in a situation where people have lost everything.

We are also supporting people in the Anqoun area, where mainly women and children have found refuge. There, we delivered 84 food packages to the most vulnerable households, helping them secure basic food for several days. In an environment where access to food is limited or completely disrupted, this support is essential.
Our humanitarian response builds on previous experience. During the unrest in 2024, we provided hot meals to more than 2,500 people in refugee camps and public centers across the country. These experiences allow us to respond more quickly and effectively today.
The situation in the Middle East continues to worsen, and the need for assistance is growing every day. Providing food remains one of the most important ways we can help reduce the impact of the conflict and support people in the first days after losing their homes.
