Every child deserves a summer full of experiences they’ll look back on with joy. However, not all families can afford a vacation, a summer camp, or even a simple trip to the pool. In households where there isn’t enough money even for basic necessities, such activities are often an unaffordable luxury.
That’s why, in our Clubhouses and community centers, we create a space where children can not only have fun and learn something new, but above all, carefree explore the world around them.
Finding the Treasure and Saving the Coyote
This year, the community center in Kojatice was transformed into a genuine thematic camp for four days. The young participants formed their own tribes and set their own rules, built a campsite, set out in search of a lost treasure, and even had to rescue a stray coyote.
The program wasn’t just about outdoor adventure, though. During creative activities, the children made their own headbands, talismans, and necklaces, naturally developing their creativity and dexterity.
The World Under a Microscope with Special Guests
An unforgettable highlight was the day volunteers from the Beckman Coulter Charity Club joined the children. Together, they delved into the fascinating world of science and explored things hidden from the human eye. Even a simple onion or a fly looked completely different under a microscope, opening a door for the children to a magical realm of tiny details they had never seen before.
Experiences That Change How We See the World
The children thoroughly enjoyed the camp from the first minute to the last. In an environment where similar experiences are a rarity, they were given a unique opportunity to try new things, learn to work together, and discover the power of teamwork. They gained experiences and broadened their horizons in a way that can positively influence their lives long after the camp ends.
Sometimes, all it takes is a single new experience for a child to realize that the world beyond the boundaries of their everyday life is much bigger than it seems. With that comes a sense of self-confidence and the deep awareness that they fully belong in this world of possibilities.
